Empathy. We need more of it.
I grew up in a household that firmly required that we volunteered. Period. Now I can do it on a larger scale than my father & mother could imagine. I am launching a new category: GIVE.
Purchases made in this category fall into a separate accounting field and generate percentages to non-profits that I’ve selected and matter to me. The percentage of revenue varies from product to product based on cost. On many, I am willing to donate 100%; in others, the percentage will be as generous as I can afford.

It’s that wonderful old-fashioned idea that others come first and you come second. This was the whole ethic by which I was brought up. Others matter more than you do, so ‘don’t fuss, dear; get on with it.’
